Is Gallstone Operation Recommended When The TSH Level In The Blood Is Elevated?

my mother is suffering from gallstone. recently she had been recommended to have a test of thyroid profile. the result of the test showed..T3 2.38...T4 0.79..and TSH 12.953...TSH is very high according to the range...just wanted to know if she can undergo gallstone surgery...please help

Thanks for your question on HCM.
Your TSH is high, so you are having hypothyroidism.
Surgery can cause stress on body.
So any hormone imbalance can be aggravated by surgical stress.
So it is better to first control hormonal imbalance if present and than do planned surgery.
So in my opinion you should first correct thyroid levels and than go for planned surgery.
In case of emergency surgery, no need to wait for normal TSH. You can operate in emergency any TSH level.
So I guess your mother's cholecystectomy is planned surgery so it can be done after normalisation of S.TSH.
