Is Hard, Enlarged Lymph Nodes On Neck And Crown Of Head Serious In A Child?

I have a 23 month old grandson, he has had enlarged lymph nodes on the right side of his neck since he was a couple months old, they are hard to touch, now that he is growing hair he had a bald spot on the top of his head, it is getting bigger and now he has one at the crown of his head. could these be related and is this serious?

Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day

It's unlikely to be of any serious effect as the lymph nodes have been present for so long.
Some of the children do have enlarged non specific enlargement of lymph node which in many cases is due to seborrhoeic dermatitis of the the scalp. This will also explain the loss of hairs.
I would suggest you to consult with your Pediatrician.
Alternatively you can also send us clinical photograph to Healthcare-Magic

I hope it helped

In case you require any further assistance, will be glad to assist you.

Take care
