Is Hypersensitivity To Sugar Possible With Borderline Diabetes?
I have borderline diabetes. I ve lost weight (30 lbs). These days, my blood sugar is most commonly in range (around 110-120) but I fell off the sugar wagon last night and ate a pint of ice cream. This morning my urine was the color of Newcastle Brown Ale. This kind of reaction to sugar used to happen a lot, in the couple months leading to my diabetic diagnosis. I am on Metformin to help combat these occasional slip-ups. Should I be alarmed, however, that my one pint of error should still have this kind of effect on me? Have I become hyper-sensitive to sugar and, no matter how much weight I lose, will this be my destiny for the remainder of my life?
Hello, The cause for dark brown colour of urine must be looked into as it gives a suspicion of blood in urine. Occasional eating of small amounts of icecream is definitely not a problem and moreover it can not cause dark brown color in urine, even if taken in excess quantities. Consult your doctor and get your checked up. Thanks
