Is Increased Size Of Renal Pelvis In Foetus A Cause For Concern?

Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here...hi doc am 21 wks pregnant and had my scan four days ago...i was told that that baby is fine but however his renal pelvis was 7mm instead of 5mm. i dont understand wat it means. he told me to wait for another scan to be arranged later to observe the change.....iam worried is my baby safe?

Hi.... please do not worry. The condition you are mentioning is called antenatally detected hydro nephrosis.

Nothing to worry about it.

It needs to be Followed up serially. Mostly it will get reduced by itself. So do not worry.
