Dear Madam,
welcome to HCM,
I understand your concern.
Insulin is the best for you during pregnancy. It will help you get a better control of blood sugars needed for better fetal development and also to avoid complications of Maternal diabetes in the fetus. What you are facing is a normal phase of blood sugar elevation during pregnancy. Generally the hormonal balance is altered during pregnancy so it is natural that you need higher dose of medication. Tablet's safety during pregnancy is not proven, hence insulin is the safest option. After delivery you may revert back to tablets. Some tablets are contraindicated during lactation. I am sure your diabetologist will guide you on that. One more thing is that the blood sugar targets during pregnancy are much stricter so as to ensure that the fetus is not affected by maternal diabetes. To achieve such a control the best available option is INSULIN. So please do not worry about anything and go ahead with insulin and come out with a beautiful baby.
All the very best!
