Is Intake Of Eldopar Advisable For 90 Year Old Having Loose Motion?

I am from Chennai India. My mother in law aged 90 years has loose motions since this morning. What would you suggest , she can be given. ? Can we give her Eldopar ? Normally she is constipated and seems to have developed this loose motion on account of an overdose of Laxatives.

Hi thanks for contacting health caremagic.
Noted she is having diarrhea.
Yes laxative abuse can lead diarrhea...

Here loperamide given only if diarrhea severe.
Just now give her rest with soft and bland diet...
Hydration maintained with more water ...
ORS can taken....
Avoid excess spicy and fried food....
Banana good for replacing lost pottasium.
Probiotic can given...

If still diarrhea continue stool examination done for pus cell , parasites and occult blood...

Hope your concern solved...
