Hi, i'm 33 years old,5'4" feet, 54 kg, i'm a G2P0 (0010) pregnant uterine 20 weeks AOG. On my first trimester , i was diagnosed to have placenta previa totalis but had no bleeding and my last ultrasound was at 16 weeks AOG, it read placenta posterior grade 1 , low lying, the placenta is 3.3 cm away from the internal cervical os. Can I travel by road or by plane by this time ? Is sex now allowed?
Hello. Welcome to HCM. This is Dr. Swarnava Dattagupta answering your query.
See, according to your last USG, you are having placenta previa posterior. Placenta previa is considered a complication in pregnancy as it has chances of bleeding, also posterior placenta previa has not so good prognosis. But the position of placenta keeps changing during pregnancy. So hope for the best. If posterior placenta previa persists, you might have to get a C/S done. Anyways, you can travel by bus or plane if you don't have active bleeding. Its better to avoid sex now.
Hope this was helpful. Regards
