Is It Advisable Taking Claritin Contributed To The Weakening Of The Walls Of The Disks In Spinal Column?

Is it possible that taking Claritin contributed to the weakening of the walls of the disks in my spinal column? I have a herniated disk and wondered if taking Claritin for a year( with the dehydration that comes with the medication) could have caused the herniation.

Hello,

No, I don't think Claritin might have caused a herniated disc. To me, it's related to age and/or lifting heavy objects.

Do follow up with an orthopedic doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
