Is It Common For The Cough To Go Away And Then Come Back?
My son was diagnosed with acute bronchitis last Tuesday and started antibiotics. By Friday his cough was virtually gone. I had kept him home from school. Now the cough seems to be sneeking back. He took the five day medicine and 10 days will be up this coming Thursday. Is it common for the cough to go away and then come back? And does he need to stay out of school longer?

It is common for the person to get the cough again if he is incompletely treated.
consult a physician whether he needed an higher antibiotic or just simple continuation of present drug for the complete course.
