Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Mt daughter is 1 year and 5 months old suffering from runny nose and fever(started today) doctor gave some medicine that is included Lorinase syrup but when I went through the leave left it is mentioned that below two years of age should not be given. please advise me in this regard.
Hi...Lorinase (depending on the country of availability) will contain Loratidine and/or Pseudoephedrine. Both these drugs are not recommended at this age group. But you need not worry as of now. Sometimes Pseudoephedrine can cause increased heart rat3ed and SVT (Supraventricular Tachycardia). I suggest you not to use this hereafter unless you get it as prescription drug. Regards - Dr. Sumanth
