Is It Necessary To Undergo Surgery For Drooped Bladder And Colon?

I have a drooped bladder and colon. It is not casuing pain or leakage. I have been told it will be a major surgery. I am 65 years old. Should I have the surgery or wait and see if it gets worse. It has not dropped any more in the last 2 years. The doctor says it is up to me. What is your opinion?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The need for surgery is totally based on the symptomatic severity always in a benign condition like this.

If there is no such annoying discomfort, you can easily avoid surgery at this point in time, taking care to avoid secondary bacterial urinary infection and constipation episodes.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
