Is It Normal For A Child To Be Extremely Tired After A URI?
My 6yr old was diagnosed with a viral upper repository infection. He ran a fever of 103.7 at it's highest for 3days. He had a mucus filled cough and runny nose. Now he's feeling much better. But he's VERY tired. Is it normal for a child to be extremely tired after a URI?

It is not usually followed by extreme tiredness.
URTI predisposes to an attack of asthma specially when there is family history of asthma
This has to be ruled out by proper examination of the chest.
Repeated episodes of breathlessness following cough and cold with fever confirms asthma.
If necessary consult pediatrician either to confirm or rule out asthma.
