Is It Normal For An Elderly Female To Pass Urine 20 Times In A Day?

My mother is 70 years old. On average she passes urine 20 times a day. 10 in the day and around 10 in the night. Urine is also in regular quantity. Please tell me if this is normal for a 70 year old and if not what all medical tests she need to do to identify the problem.
My email address is YYYY@YYYY .

Thanks

Hi thanks for posting your query on health care magic.

These clinical symptoms suggest "POLYURIA/GENUINE STRESS INCONTINENCE" due to laxity or loss of sphincteric tone of the urethra as going by her age.

Also the possibility of late onset Diabetes insipidus cannot be ruled.

Investigations like Micturition cystourethrography, serum and urine osmolaity, serum electrolytes can most rightly diagnose her condition.

Treatment largely depends on the test results.

Consult an expert NEPHROLOGIST for further assistance .

Thank you,
Take care
