Is It Normal To Be Off Work For 2 Weeks After Vaginal Hysterectomy?

i'm having a hysterectomy March 31 and I'm not sure if I'm having a vaginal operation or abdominal. my gyno is referring me to another surgeon as she can't fix my stress incontinence during the surgery and she says my uterus is too big. My current dr tells me i'll only be off work 2 weeks if i have a vaginal hysterectomy. How can this be right? I mean she tells me to stay in bed for the first week. I do work in an office but i'm very active at work. Is normal? I haven't met the new surgeon, so i'm basing this on my current dr's instructions.

Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
Its perfectly normal to be off work for 2 weeks after vaginal hysterectomy. Vaginal hysterectomy doesn't give any scar on abdomen & healing is expected to be faster, that's why recuperation period is short. You can go for it.
Wish you good health.
Regards.
