Is It Normal To Experience Back Pain, Tiredness And Flutters In Stomach After Getting A Depo Provera Shot?

Hi. I've been on the depo provera shot for almost 2 years now, and since I've been on it I haven't gotten a period. My boyfriend and I don't use a condom, so he cums in me.
So lately, I've been getting flutters in my stomach, I've been getting very bad cramps, and a lot of back pain, I'm always tired, always get heart burns, and I've been getting very emotional. What could this be?

Hi,

Greetings!
Welcome to Health care Magic.

From the description you have provided there seems to be no concern regarding your depot injection. However, I would suggest you the following:
1. Complete Gynecological examination
2. Ultrasound abdomen and pelvis
If both the above seems to be normal, I don't see any reason for you to be concerned.

Regarding your symptoms of feeling tired, kindly get your hemoglobin levels assessed. If its below 10gm%, would suggest you to start with Iron and folic acid therapy. This shall take care of your tiredness and shall provide you that feel good factor. Also do discuss with your partner what exactly you are going through. His support is very important for you.

Regarding your other symptoms of heart burn, back ache etc.. appears to be more of stress related (provided your Ultrasound and gynecological evaluation are normal). I would suggest you to take Pantaprazole tablets to reduce heart burn for 2 weeks and when ever you have backache, you may use some pain killers sos.

Here are few things to take care of:
1. Good rest and sleep
2. Well balanced diet and hydration
3. 30 minutes walk morning and evening everyday
4. Maintenance of Hemoglobin levels
5. Discussion, support and assurance from your partner

Do let me know if you have further questions. Would be glad to support you.

Take care.

Best regards,
