Is It Normal To Experience Jaw And Back Pain After C6 And C7 Neck Fusion?
I recently underwent c6 and C7 neck fusion, my pre-pain is all gone however, I still have a difficult time sleeping. I am unable to sleep on either side as it bends my neck. Still dealing with headaches when I try to lay down also, my jaw and back of my neck hurts at times esp. when it s cold? Are these normal effects or will they eventually go away? I m glad I had the surgery due to the pain in my arm, hand, and neck was unbearable after a year and a half after a wreck that I was in. Thank you, Lee H.
I have studied your case. There can be residual diffuse pain after surgery,it will go after good physiotherapy.
If pain remains persist you may need to repeat MRIcervical spine. For these symptoms analgesic and neurotropic medication can be started. Till time, avoid lifting weights, Sit with support to back. You can consult physiotherapist for help. Physiotherapy like ultrasound and interferential therapy will give quick relief. I will advise to check your vit B12 and vit D3 level.
Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.
