Is It Normal To Face Difficulty To Urinate After Bladder Sling Surgery?

A week and a half ago I had a hysterectomy, bladder sling, and AP repair. The doctors have tried removing my catheter 4 times and until yesterday I was unable to void at all. Yesterday I could only void 250ml with 1300ml remaining in my bladder so it went back in. Is this normal? Is the fact I could void at all a good sign?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* Significant amount of residual urine after sling surgery is not a good sign and the reason behind the same must be evaluated with uroflowmetry with or without CT IVP to get the reasons and treat accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Wish you best recovery. Thank you. Take care.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
