Is It Normal To Feel Drowsy?

I hit my head very hard on the side of a steel door the night before last. It bled for around half an hour at the time but has since clotted and healed fine. I had no memory loss, dizzyness or nausea at the time but now feel utterly exausted. I have slept nearly all day and still feel very tired. Is this normal/safe?

Hello. I have been through your question and understand your concern.

After a head trauma it is important that you did not head loss of consciousness, vomiting, nausea, and neurological deficits.

Feeling exhausted is normal after head trauma, because there is some concussion of the brain, but it is considered normal. You should be fine in a couple of days.

In case you have memory problems, speech difficulties, or other neurological deficits you should seek medical consult.

Hope this helps. Please feel free for further questions.
