Is It Normal To Get Menstrual Cramps After Hysterectomy?

I had a supracervical hysterectomy Sep 2013 and I still have my ovaries. I have been getting what feels like menstrual cramps that radiate to my back and can be quite severe. This seems to coincide with a cycle since I still have hormones. Can you have pain like that and be normal ? I was wondering if it could be like the phantom pain I ve heard amputees have. Is there anything that can lessen these symptoms?
