Is It Normal To Have A Bruising And Itching After A Bug Bite?

I got a bug bite about a week ago, I itched it and now it looks like it s flattened out and it s about the size of a nickel. It is bruised all around it. Is this normal? The nickel sized area is red, I noticed the bruising a few days ago and it has gone from purple to yellow color.

Hi

You seem to have developed an allergic reaction over the skin.
You should avoid application of any creams or oils over the affected areas .
Simply apply a mild topical steroid cream like cortisone over the affected areas twice a day .
Take some oral antihistamine like claritin for the associated itching and allergic reaction.
Do not touch the area too much. Avoid scratching .

Hope it helps
