Is It Normal To Have A Dark Coloured Skin On The Back Of My Head After An Injury?

I hit the back of my hand on my chair handle. Then it bulged above the area where, I assume is the, thickest blue vein located on my right hand. After half a day and ice pack it cooled down, the swelling disappeared. This happened on the afternoon of February 11, now it is February 13. The area still hurts and it looks darker in colour. It is alright?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
The injured part of your head is still dark because of bleeding under the skin- & it will go away within few weeks as the blood gets absorbed.
It painful due to the injury /pressure on nerves supplying skin./ boney injury ( though not fracture). The pain take few months to go.
All you need to do is calcium/vitamin D supplements Along with pain killers as per need.
Thanks.
