Is It Normal To Have Cough After A T&A?

My 5 yo had a T & A with tubes last Wednesday. The mon before we had routine pulmonologist appt and he heard a wheeze on exhale. Put him on orapred and told me to restart flovent. However 2 days after he had surgery and stayed overnight. They gave him his singulair and orapred from hosp pharm and told me not to give him flovent. Since discharge I have not given him flovent but he is starting to cough and clear his throat. The cough isn t terrible but he is just starting now. Is it normal to cough after t&a? And can I start flovent now?

Pediatrician, Pulmonology 's  Response
Hi,

As he is symptomatic you can as well start giving him Flovent now. Actually there was no reason to stop this drug when he was in the hospital.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sumanth Amperayani,
