Is It Normal To Have Cramps Similar To Flare Up After Having Antibiotic?
I have been recently diagnosed with Gastritis & was px Nexium 40mg o.d for 3/12. After one week of taking this medication, I could say I had full improvement, However, I have commenced an antibiotic called Calvepen 666mg for throat infection and since starting it, I find that I have cramps similar to a flare up. Is this normal?
Hi thanks for your question. The drug Calvepen which your taking is phenoxymethylpencillin commonly called as pencillin V. Yes, this drug occionally this drug causes transient nausea, vomitting, epigastric distress and diarrea. All these are side effects of this drug. These effects will wean off once you will stop taking this drug. If these symptoms are too much troublesome consult your physician who may change the antibiotic. Hope this answers your question.
