Is It Normal To Have Frequent Bowel Movement While On Dulcolax?

Took a dulcolax pill yesterday have experienced uncontrollable , frequent, urgent, eliminations primarily after walking, since this morning. Is this simply a reaction to the dulcolax that will go away with time as the effect of the pill wears off? It may be important to note that the symptoms seem to be getting better but is of concern.

Hi.
Thanks for your query, albeit short and specific.
Noted the history and understood your concerns.
Dulcolax works by irritation of the gastrointestinal tract hence you are getting the symptoms of uncontrolled, frequent, urgent eliminations after waking since morning.
Usually the effect weans off with time hence not much to worry.
May be that you have to be at home today till the diarrhea is settled.
But if there are other symptoms that are present then it is better to send the sample of stool and get proper treatment.
Take plenty of oral fluids and electrolytes to avoid the fluid and electrolyte imbalance.
