Is It Normal To Have Hard Scrotum Skin During Old Age?

I am a 60 year old make. About two months ago I noticed a 2 x 2 portion of my scrotum skin got very thick and kinda hard. It is in the front of the scrotum between the testicles. I am experiencing no pain. Is this normal in older males? Is it an infection of some kind? Thank you XXXX

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Yes,

It is normal. With advanced age, the skin loses elasticity and there is keratin deposition underneath so the skin gets hardened up.
If you observe any redness, cystic feeling, heaviness and dragging or an itch, it would be abnormal. Then it could be jock itch, eczema, testicular cyst, hydrocele and so on.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
