Is It Normal To Have Irregular Periods After Removal Of Paraguard?

I had my Paraguard removed the first week of November. November and December I had my normal 3-5 day (roughly every 28 days) periods, right on time (I track them with an app). In January, my period came about 3 days early and only lasted about 24 hours. It appeared heavy with cramping and then oddly completely stopped and did not return. I have never had irregular periods. I am also mildly nauseas with no vomiting and very dehydrated x 3 days. I am hesitant to take a pregnancy test as my breasts are not "aching", etc. Is this normal after Paraguard removal?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Minor bleeding can happen after removal of praguard. Generally it will settle by itself without any treatment. If symptoms persist, you can consult a gynecologist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
