Is It Normal To Have Missed Period After Being On Nuvaring?

Last month I lost my nuva ring, after having it in for one day. ( I've been on it for a few months now, though) and so I went a whole month without it because I didnt have money to pay for another prescription. This sunday I put a new ring in, and right now I would usually be on my period after taking the ring out. But I'm not. Is this normal? because I took myself off of the artificial menstrual cycle I was on?
