Is It Normal To Have Pain And Swelling In Lymph Nodes And Tongue After Having Thyroid Removed Due To Cancer?

Hi I have had my thyroid removed 3 1/2 years ago, because I had cancer and ever since the lymph nodes under my jaw has stayed swollen, as well as the soft tissue (glands) under my tongue swells at times and becomes very painful. I just saw my endo today and he said he does not know what causing it. He said maybe allergies. Could this be true? I do have seasonal allergies. But not year around. Last year test results he said I had antibodies that came back in my blood work. But he said it was because my cats kill mice and leave leave on my porch? I very confused..

First of all what was the thyroid cancer and what stage was it. We need to know the procedure done too. How many lymph nodes removed etc. Have you had l radio iodine after thst?? Your antibody levels against thyroglobulin can remain elevated for a while which makes it difficult for doctors to follow up with thyroglobulin levels. Then they use ultrasound screening or PET scans.
