Hi, i just turned 50 yrs old, in the 2 yrs or so my periods have stayed regular...i mean every 28 days to 30 days. My periods have been less than 7 days, meaning 2-3 heavy days and about 3 more days of light blood. Last period was 2 weeks ago and i started my period again this morning. Is that normal? Will this all end...eventually?
I am so sorry to hear about what you have been experiencing. From your age, you are soon going menopausal and these irregularities are not uncommon in the months and years leading up to menopause. I will say this is acceptable for now. However, it should continue like this for the next month, please seek medical attention just to make sure there is nothing that we need to be concerned about. Your OBGYN would be the best person to talk to first.
If it is all related to menopause, then it will soon be over. but until we gather more information, we just need to be an eye on it and make sure we are not missing out on any thing dangerous.
I hope you find this helpful and it addresses your query fully. Thank you so much for using our services and feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be. I wish you the best of health. Dr. Ditah, MD
