Is It Normal To Hear The Heart Beat Of A 19 Month Old?

My 19 month old is asleep and I can feel his heartbeat very strongly through his chest. It is beating about 136bpm. Is that ok? It feels fast but I know it's a little faster in young children. He has a slight fever and had a stomach bug a few days ago as well as immunization shots about a week ago. Is the combination of things the explanation or does that make him at risk for a more serious problem?
