Is It Ok If Same Medicine Is Taken Twice In Diabetes?

My dad accidently took double his meds tonight, he is diabetic and took (in total) 2 tabs metroprolol tartrate and a 10mg glipizide. He did this once before I took over his care and said he was ok. Do I need to take him to Emergency room? If not, What should I do about giving him his am meds?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
In general nothing should happen but if he gets dizzy or uneasy or sweaty, then he may be taken to ER for observation. He may get some low blood pressure or low blood sugar levels for sometime, which eventually would become all right if the fall is just slight.
Thanks
