Is It Okay For An Infant To Be Exposed To The Sun?

I had to run an errand today and took my 3 month old out of the car seat to go inside. On the way in I had his face covered with a blanket. On the way out it slipped my mind and he was exposed to the sun for about 1 minute as I walked to the car. I just wanted to know if that is ok, especially for his eyes. We never have him outside unless he is completely shaded.
