Is It Okay To Avoid Prednisolone If Its Not Necessary ?

Hi,Our 6 month old was prescribed Prednisolone, because she has a cough and is wheezing slightly. Her pediatrician doesn t believe it s due to a virus, but caused by allergies. Our daughter spends roughly 1-1.5 hours outside a day. We want to avoid medication if it s not necessary. We have also been advised to give her albuterol and saline breathing treatments. We believe the human body is pretty powerful alone and that medical intervention should be used sparingly.

Pediatrician, Pulmonology 's  Response
HI...your paediatrician might probably be right, as severe wheezing and requirement of oxygen are two good indications for using steroids. But if the respiratory distress and wheezing is not very severe, you can wait.... If you are happy with my suggestion, kindly rate and thank. I wish you good health.
