Is It Okay To Occasionally Use Sildenafil Citrate Recreationally While On Amlodipine Besilate And Telmisartan?

I m a 40 years old male and take blood pressure control drugs (Amlodipine Besilate 5mg during morning and Telmisartan 40mg suring night). I would like to use sildenafil citrate occasionally, just for recreational use. Is it OK to do so under the circumstances described above? If not what are other effect ED drugs I may take along with the drugs I already take? Thank you.

Hi,

It is not recommended to use sildenafil citrate recreationally while taking Amlodipine Besilate and Telmisartan without consulting with your doctor first. Sildenafil citrate, also known as Viagra, can interact with these blood pressure medications and potentially increase the risk of side effects such as low blood pressure.

If you are experiencing erectile dysfunction, it is best to discuss this with your doctor and they can advise on the best course of treatment for you, taking into account the medications you are currently taking. They may recommend alternative ED medications such as tadalafil (Cialis) or vardenafil (Levitra) that may be safer for you to use in combination with your blood pressure drugs.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
