Is It Possible That A Recent SVT Episode Was A One-off Occurrence And Not Related To My Childhood SVT?

Hi there - I had SVT as a child and had an ablation at age 15. I am now 29. I had a short SVT episode about a year ago and am worried that it has recurred. Is it possible that this episode was a one-off and not related to my childhood SVT? Is it possible that this episode does not mean that I have extra electrical pathways that must be ablated? Can I expect to get more necessarily?

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

I would recommend performing a new Holter ECG monitoring in order to determine the type of cardiac arrhythmia. We can not conclude if this type of arrhythmia is related to the same region that you had ablation. A new electrophysiological study is necessary to come into the right conclusion.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
