Is It Possible To Be Allergic To Valsartan And Eliquis With Dermatitis?

Is it possible to be allergic to Valsarten, Eliquis, etc, with dermatitis? My friend, 84, had a groin catheterization, a heart stent put in after heart beat irregularity. At the site of the cath she began having discomfort immediately. The rash has now spread all over her body.

Hello,

Of course, it is possible to be allergic to any substance including valsartan and eliquis although I believe this is not the most likely cause. Local discomfort at the insertion site - in most cases - has to do with local inflammation.

A spreading rash after placing an IV line and infusing contrast media or any drug usually has to do with the contrast media or the drug. Make sure the doctors point out which the most likely offender was because it may have implications for future treatment or procedures.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
