Is It Possible To Increase TSH From Low To So High?
Sir, Before 5 month my mother TSH is low 0.0 but normal of T3, T4 so doctors suggest to take methimez10 tablet. My mother had already two surgery regarding "Gall Stone" and post revision surgery for Ca Gall bladder and finally declared cancer free after second surgery. But recently i have tested for CT SCAN and other blood test, everything seems to be normal except TSH level is 15.46. Is it possible to increase TSH from low to so high? Sir please guide me..! doctor suggested mother to take thyronmorm50 tablet.
Mother have diabetis which is under control on diet.
Though this is so drastic a change,it is possible. I will like that the laboratory findings should be correlated with her symptoms to see if they are suggestive of hypothyroidism. If the two should be both suggestive of hypothyroidism, I will advice that she should go ahead and accept the proposed treatment. At times, we are too focused on the numbers and not the patient. This aspect should not be forgotten and results should not be treated but the patient should.
I hope this helps. I wish her well.
