Is It Possible To Sprain Shoulder Muscles?

I had what appeared to be a knot in my muscle half way between my neck and shoulder above the shoulder blade, below the collar bone. It is now the size of a lemon and it appears that all my muscles behind and beside my shoulder are swollen. Did I sprain it?

Hi,

Please do consult your orthopedician as this can be a sprain by itself or muscle tear, only a thorough examination can rule out either of them.
