Is It Safe To Give Formula Milk Instead Of Breastfeeding For Diarrhea In Infants?
Hi. My daughter is 8 mths old actual 6 months has diarrhea for 4 days and when i went to the clinic the doctor said not to give milk for 2 days..just rice porridge n rice water. The doctor also gave medicine smecta to stop the diarrhea. I just need second opinion is it ok not to give milk for 2 days or i can give milk formula lactose free or soya base to her? Hello,
There is no substitute for breast milk. It has Ig A antibodies to boost immunity and prevent infection. Formula milk at times ,may cause diarrhea due to it's ingredients. There are hygiene issues with bottle and nipple too.
