Is It Safe To Give Hetrazan100 Without Infections In Kids?

My 10 year old daughter has wheezing & cough. Taking cefpodoxime for last 8 days. Also given MontekLC & Albutamol for 4 days now. Symptoms are reduced. But blood result 2 days before shows esionophilia 16%. Doctor prescribed Hetrazan100 for 10 days and review. Is it safe to take this medicine as the presence of parasitic worms is not confirmed?

Hetrazan is diethylcarbamazine and is used W.bancrofti , filaria and also in EOSINOPHILIA ( as in your daughter case ) .
This is most effective and safe medicine for eosinophilia whether parasites present or not present.
Usually very minor side effects are present that too not dangerous if , even taken for long time .
Safe in children also .
Doses are day1 1 mg / kg in three divided doses .
Increase up to 6 mg /kg body weight in three divided doses .
So you can give this drug to your daughter irrespective of parasitic presence .
