Is It Safe To Have Sex After Epididymitis?

Is it safe to have sex after epididymitis has been treated? My husband was diagnosed with epididymitis and has been on antibiotis for 2 days. If the infection is not caused by an std is it safe for us to have sex or could I have caught this bacteria off him and now spread it back to him? Should I be tested for any infection? I am 10 weeks pregnant.

Hello ma'am and welcome.

It would be best to avoid sexual contact until at least 2 weeks from the last dose of antibiotics received. This precaution and abstenence is mainly for his health and not necessarily yours.

Sexual intercourse during this period can result in aggravation and even prevent healing in him. So please avoid intercourse as advised.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes.
