Is It Safe To Return To 2 Mg Of Clonazepam Daily After Taking 4 Mg Daily For One Week?
I’ve been on 2 mg a day of clonazepam for many years due to a stressful event I was told I could take 4 mg a day ( so 2 extra mg a day) for 1 week then stop and go back to my regular 2 mg schedule. I want to ensure this is safe it’s almost a week and I’m ready to go back to my 2mg a day not 4
Yes, tapering helps to prevent severe withdrawal symptoms. Avoid taking high dose all of a sudden. Tapering will cause you to be more anxious, restlessness, or you may suffer from insomnia for a few days as your body adjusts back to the lower dose. Be gentle with yourself. You are advised to take for 1-2 days and then taper from the third day, to be more comfortable.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
