Is It Safe To Start Clomid As I Have Sore Breasts?
hi, my name is sahar. i am 32 and i am TTC. My doctor prescribed Clomid for me. first round 50 mg but I didn t ovulate so i got 100 mg in the same cycle. second round i got 100mg but the ovulation was poor. third round i got 150 mg and the ovulation was really good. From 5 days post ovulation I had sore breast and i was sleepy the whole time. My AF started on CD 29 but it was just two days. Today is the third day of my period but I still feel sleepy the whole time and my breast sore on sides. i have to start the forth round of clomid today but my question is about the symptoms. Is it safe to start the clomid?

* Clomid is used to induce ovulation .Recommended dosage schedule is 50 mg once a day for 5 days ( usually on 5th day of cycle ).. the ovulation is awaited from 5th to 10th day of finishing the pills.
* In case there is no ovulation the dosage is increased to 100mg per day for 5 days ( starting from 5th day of bleeding OR after 30 days gao from first cycle ).... !00mg dose For 5 days is tried for cycles. Before starting each dose of Clomid pills- vaginal examination is essential to exclude pregnancy.
* The dose can be raised to 150 mg only after complete evaluation of patient ( To exclude ovarian cyst other than PCOD/ Thyroid / liver or pituitory cause of absent ovulation )
** Reading your query... I find some confusion about dosage & the period gap between first two courses.
The breast pain you have seems to be the side effect/ over dosage in same menstrual cycle.
I would advise earliest visit( before starting the third course ) to the treating doctor to discuss & get clear advise about next move OR have a second opinion of a Gynecologist/ Endocrinologist to overcome the problem.
