Is It Safe To Take 2-3 Nexium Per Day?

Hi...I have severe GERD, was being treated but lost my healthcare. Needless to say I was thrilled when Nexium became OTC. Bought some, it doesn t always work but it does more often than not. The mg on the bottle says 22.3. I find taking 2-3 throughout the day very helpful but is it dangerous? I haven t experienced any of the symptoms listed been taking it for almost 2 mos now. Thank you for your time.

Hi! For GERD one may take up to 40 mg Nexium in a day. Without good reason
(that, is under special circumstances) more than 40 mg/day is not recommended.
If you find the effect tapering off after a few hours I'd suggest you switch to Nexium 24HR delayed release capsules for a relatively prolonged duration of action
Please remember'MORE IS NOT BETTER' when it comes to drugs. All the best!
