Is It Safe To Take Accutane For A Person Diagnosed With Depression?

My son is taking celexa for depression and anxiety and also ritalin for adhd. He may start accutane for severe acne. Are there negative drug interactions? What are your thoughts about accutane with some one already diagnosed with depression (no suicidal ideation---mild depression)

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

You can take accutane. It will not interact with your routine drugs and does not worsen the underlying medical condition.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
