Is It Safe To Take Arcoxia And Diclofenac Together?

i had a fall and have hurt my back muscles/ligaments. trying to stretch to loosen the tissues seems to have made it worse :( i have been using Diclofenac (Voltaren SR) 100mg 1tablet each of the last two nights. i want to also use Arcoxia 90mg concurrently because of pain. Is it safe to combine the two?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

There is an increased risk of gastrointestinal side effects with use of this combination.

This is because they both have the potential to cause gastritis, indigestion, abdominal discomfort.

It would be best to use a drug from another family to avoid augmenting side effects.
Examples would be paracetamol, codeine or tramadol

The use of warm compresses to the area may also help.

I hope this helps
