Is It Safe To Take Cipro (500mg) Along With RA Medicines?

I have been diagnosed with RA and I am currently taking Celebrex 2 times daily(200mg), 1 embrel shot weekly and 6 methotrexade tablets(once a week) plus 1 folic acid daily and additiona meds for other problems. I now have a UT infection and my regular doctor has prescribed 2 Cipro (500mg) daily for 10 days. Is it safe for me to take this drug with the RA meds I have been taking?

Hi, Cipro can increase the level of Methotrexate, because Cipro competes with Methotrexate in the kidney tubules, decreased the excretion of the Methotrexate. your treating doctor should watch your CBC, to monitor for toxicity.
Good luck.
