Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is It Safe To Take Codo Forte Along With Lantus And Stiloz For Diabetes?
Hi, my father is a high blood pressure patient and three months ago suffered a stroke. He is functional and is able to walk, talk moderately. He is also diabetic for which he is on lantus twice a day. In addition to that, he takes Stiloz, Stamlo, Metrocard and Rozucor. About two months ago, he had a hypoglycemic attack and his hemoglobin dropped to 7ish which now has increased to 9ish... Plus his creatinine is 3.1. The nephrologist has suggested he take Cudoforte, Eido feforte, Laretol and Lanum. My question is will is be ok with the medicines he is already taking?
In my opinion, the nephrologist has rightly prescribed the additional medicines besides, what he is already taking. As Cudo Forte is a pre-biotic and probiotic, Eido Fe forte is a health supplement containing calcium pantothenate, biotin, methyl cobalamin, folic acid and iron etc., (may be needed as Hb is already low), Laretol is a form of vitamin D, Lanum is a form of calcium (may be helpful in treating the raised level of phosphates, in patient of kidney disease, as his creatinine is already high).
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Satnarain Bansal, General & Family Physician
