i am a caregiver, i have a patient who was prescribed with Geodon 60 mg. 1cap 2x daily, he d been on it for 8 days now, prior to this med, he was taking paxil and perphenazine which was both discontinued and replaced by geodon. The patient has become more irritable, temperamental and explosive.it sounds like the geodon is not effective or is it too early to see the effect?Diagnosis: Schizophrenia and Mental Retardation

Is It Safe To Take Geodon To Treat Schizophrenia?
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic It is possible that his dose may need adjustment because it is indicated for use in this condition and should be exerting an effect by this time. It would be best to speak to his doctor to find out if the dose can be adjusted since he is currently not at the maximum. I hope this helps
