I was curious as to the interactions between hydrocodone ( 10/325 ) , methadone ( 15 mg. daily) and diazepam ( 30 mg. daily ) prescribed by pain management specialist for inoperable back conditions determined by several MRI , X- Rays and physical examinations from some of the most respected clinics in my area of Memphis , Tn. , namely world renown Campbell Clinic as well as the equally regarded Semmes- Murphy . The numerous conditions include everything from Scheuermann s disease ( congenital vertebral wedging resulting in pain that is difficult to convey without appearing exagerative) , widespread osteoarthritis including every lumbar , L4 and L5 have fused together , DDD , spondylolithesis , spondylosis and a significant Pars fracture located on top part of right side vertebral ring of bone . This condition has deteriorated significantly over the last 2 1/2 years and before I was directed to pain management , I underwent 9 unsuccessful epidural injections as well as another failed nerve ablation attempt. Now , here s the ( seemingly to me) almost unbelievable bad news : I still have 6-8 days a month ( they refer to them as breakthrough pain) when my left side is so painful it results in lost days spent on the sofa. My attorney has assured me we are very close to a successful petition for long term disabîlity approval being in the last stages of negotiations with my particular , and rightly sympathetic, administrative law judge . I am a 59 year old male and am very concerned about what these treatments portend for my quality of life as I age and face the possibility of more overall , or specific, deterioration of my condition . I would like to thank all you professionals for making yourselves available for laypeople such as myself and compliment you all on the the quality of your website as a resource . I would be willing to pursue any reasonable course of action ( changing health professionals being one ) if a more enlightened, effective approach were to present itself . I have already been mercilessly coerced to commit to the implanted Boston Scientific internal tens type of device and , based on research and anecdotal evidence, firmly rejected this as an option . I will not consider this . Thank you for your consideration to this matter . Sincerely, R.M. Burton
